Not SushiNot SushiUnit 1, Imperial Court
Wed. 3rd November 1999 We were in town again, shopping, and turned up at Not Sushi just before 2:00 pm. Marg had Chicken Yakitori - 3 strips of chicken marinaded in Yakitori sauce, served with a little pickled pink ginger and Soy sauce. I had half and half of Californian Maki Roll and Kappa Sake Maki Roll, and a side order of Yasai Gyoza. A coke for Marg and a half pint of Kirin lager for me completed the meal, which is a little more than a snack. Marg enjoyed the chicken, and tried some of my Gyoza dipped in the red chilli sauce - this she enjoyed as well. I really enjoyed all that I had, but was somewhat disappointed by the amount of salmon in the sushi - tiny, and by the Tuna, which may as well have been a dollop of Tuna Mayonnaise - still very good and very tasty, but not quite what I'd hoped for - maybe I really should have tried the Sashimi as well!! At £14.80 including the drinks, I was quite happy. As we were quite late in arriving, there was just one other couple - who were just about to leave - in the place, so I couldn't comment on the ambience. Why is it that Marg and I always seem to be out of synch with the rest of the world??? Verdict: Recommended for informal, inexpensive snacks with a difference. Sandro and Marg |
