La Tasca Spanish Tapas RestaurantLa Tasca
Spanish Tapas Restaurant 4th Nov 1999 My, we've been doing some shopping! I've taken a couple of weeks holiday, and we seem to be spending it all doing Christmas shopping. Again, our penchant for being out of synch with everyone else meant we tipped up at La Tasca at about 3:15 pm, and the place was empty. We wanted something more than a snack, less than a full meal, so a Tapas bar sounded just the job. I'd been to this place a few weeks previously with colleagues from work - seven of us just asked for the pitchers of beer to keep coming, and we ordered a selection of about sixteen different tapas. A full review can be found here. (and another update here) This time, we ordered a selection of breads - plain, olive, and tomato filled, to go with the Patatas Bravas, Tortilla, Baked Aubergine, Chicken Kebab and Meatballs. A Coke and Half a pint of San Miguel totted up to £16.65. Marg doesn't like Parmesan cheese, so she didn't like the sample she had of the baked Aubergine - I had not managed to scrape off the topping properly. The breads were very good - made on the premises. Of the dishes, the Patatas and Chicken were favourite - the meatballs lacked flavour, and the tortilla quickly went cold - probably due to being a small portion which didn't get immediate attention from us. All in all, we enjoyed it, but we really must try to arrange our schedules so that we eat at more normal times - then maybe we'd stand a chance of seeing what sort of atmosphere can be achieved.
