Casa Vecchia Italian RestaurantCasa Vecchia Italian Restaurant4 Old Market SquareSandbach Cheshire CW11 1AT Tel: 01270 761077 The Casa Vecchia is prominently located on the picturesque cobbled square in Sandbach, adjacent to the historic Saxon Crosses. Car parking is adjacent on the cobbled square and also in public car parks nearby. As an aside, the restaurant occupies the site that was once partly occupied by the excellent Fortune Palace restaurant that relocated to Pickmere near Northwich. The Casa Vecchia is a family run restaurant that offers a homely, bistro type of environment with friendly service and a compact and lively atmoshphere. For a three course meal with wine and coffeee, expect to pay about £25 per head ordering specials or from the meat, fish or poulty sections of the menu. On the other hand, skip the starter, drink beers and order from the pasta or pizza menu and eat for less than £10 per head. Particularly memorable meals form the menus have included sauteed chicken livers, which were fresh hot and sauteed in a delicious marsala sauce and monkfish, pan fried in wine and herbs. Verdict - Very good and cheerful Italian eaterie that is an undoubted asset to rural South Cheshire. This is a busy little restaurant that would seem more at home in the busy suburbs of a large town or city and despite little local competiion provides excellent food, service and value for money. |
