Bertorelli's RestaurantBertorelli's Restaurant19-23 Charlotte Street It's the first menu I've seen all night that can both entice me and still keep within my expenses limit. Modern interior - novel toilets with a pissoir consisting of a glass waterfall into a glass trough - similarly the handwash facilities were fwacetts opening onto a long marble trough - interesting! There was a fair "buzz" inside - by this time it was 9:30pm - and the staff were friendly and efficient. I opted for the starter that had caught my eye from the street: Carpaccio of Haddock with Ginger and Chillies. This was excellent, and unfortunately, probably enough for my appetite! Second course was Linguini with pan-fried squid. Excellent texture - both for the squid and the linguini. The parmesan which was offered had perhaps seen better days. A bottle of Peroni, and a glass of Montepulciano. Finish off with a cafe macchiato - one of the best I've had in ages - and I've just returned from a couple of weeks in Rome! Total, including 12% service charge, was less than £25. Verdict - I came away satisfied! Sandro
