The Taste of Raj is prominently located in the High Street of Sandbach. It now occupies the premises formerly occupied by the highly rated Takdir (now sorely missed).

The menu is a varied combination of traditional Tandoori specialities, standard restaurant curries and Balti dishes

The chef's specials are not cheap. However, overall the standard of food and quality of the ingredients used was disappointing.

Service is good and the food always arrives fresh and hot. A tandoor is obviously used for the naans and other tandoori dishes on the menu.

There is a special lunchtime menu offering fixed price selections. This is one of two restaurants locally under the same ownership. The sister restaurant is the Taste of Raj in Congleton, offers Sunday buffet lunches.

Verdict - A disappointing restaurant that could offer better quality and value for money. There are far better alternatives in the surrounding area. This establishment needs to pull its socks up.
