Siro Italian Restaurant Siro Italian Restaurant An alternative to Est Est Est in Alderley edge. It is styled more on a traditional mediterranean style than the modern décor, chain chic, of Est Est Est. It draws its atmosphere from perhaps more intimate surroundings of close set tables, lower ceilings and archways. There is a brave attempt at instilling that Mediterranean atmosphere by covering the entire ceiling in the front of the restaurant with an artificial vine containing bunches of plastic grapes. My own view is this is possibly a step too far and doesnt really work. Nevertheless, we descended on Siro one lunchtime, about ten of us, for a pre-ordered, single course lunch and drink. I decided on the Lasagne, perhaps feeling a little unoriginal that day, but between us we ordered a representative selection of pizza and pasta. Service was friendly and with a smile and a joke. The food was served promptly and freshly prepared. My lasagne was pretty good, everyone else seemed quite satisfied with their meals also. The pizzas were not as large as those in Est Est Est further up the street, but in terms of quality looked just as good. Advertised on the walls were opera evenings, with a live opera singer, that I imagine are quite entertaining and would make an excellent evening out. Overall, enough to judge that the quality is reasonable and the service good. A tentative recommendation for Siro. Phil
