San Carlo Italian Restaurant

Friday 24th March 2000

A colleague and I had driven from Manchester to Bristol for a business meeting at 2:00. We arrived at 12:45, and it took us another fifteen minutes to make sure we knew where the meeting venue was, and to check out a couple of places to eat before we dropped in on the San Carlo. Perhaps a little plusher than we’d expected for a quick lunch, we both decided on a simple Pizza. A glass of the house red and a bottle of water washed it down. One of the best Pizzas I’ve had in a long time, and I’m dismayed we didn’t have the time to sample anything from the varied and interesting menu. This place looks very promising. I can’t wait until next time!

After arriving home and reading their card, I realised I’d been in their other restaurant in Birmingham a couple of years ago. That too was memorable (not least because it was paid for by my then boss!)
