My son and his new wife arranged to come up from London for the weekend, bringing along for the first time
to visit us:
her Mother, her Sister and partner, and her Brother and partner.
Together with my Daughter, my Cousin and her Husband, and my other Cousin,
it was quite difficult trying to book a table for the thirteen of us!.
The Restaurant offered us a table from 7:30 to 9:00 - they operate a two-sitting policy.
Normally, I'd look for somewhere else, as I'm not comfortable with the thought that I have to finish to a deadline. I've been reminded by many friends and family that we don't normally take more than a couple of hours at the table, but

Marg and I have been to The Restaurant in Liverpool several times before - but always at lunchtime - so this was our first dinner here.
We were mildly surprised by how busy it was - it was quite a bit louder than we'd experienced at lunch, but after all, this is the centre of a lively, bustling city.
We were shown to our table - arranged as a long row of six on either side plus one at the head near the entrance - and ordered drinks while we waited for all the party to arrive. There wasn't much room between our party and the next row of tables - something which was to become apparent later.
