The Park Green Tandoori is located in what appears might have been a public house previously. It is located close to the town centre of Macclesfield and has some adjacent street parking.

The Park Green is a tastefully appointed traditional Indian Restaurant. it offers good food, good service and good value for money. In the Macclesfield area where there is a good choice of restaurants to choose from, the Park Green takes some beating.

On arriving at the restaurant you are greeted promptly and courteously and shown to a lounge area where you can study the menu whilst having a leisurely drink. When you have ordered and your table is prepared you are ushered efficiently to your seats.

When we tested this restaurant we chose the following dishes off the fairly standard menu. Starters: pakora, sheek kebab. Main Course: chicken korma, scampi malayan and chicken khorai. Accompanied by: pillau rice, garlic nan and plain nan.

The starter portions were small but fresh and well presented and served with a fresh side salad and excellent yoghurt sauce. The main course took a long time to arrive but was worth it. I personally prefer the meal to be relaxed rather than hurried. The main dishes were plentiful in size. The scented aroma of the rice preceded its delivery and it tasted as good as it smelled. Each of the dishes we ordered were distinctive and well prepared. in particular the chicken was beautifully cooked and tender to eat.

The bill for a party of three was just over £38 including two round of drinks (Kingfisher Lager as opposed to wine). This is very reasonable at about £13 per head.

Verdict - An excellent restaurant in the midst of much local competion, including the Raj almost opposite which has recently opened. Whilst nothing was outstanding by the same token there was nothing that fell short of any expectations we had. Overall a thoroughly good restaurant and recommended for value for money.
