Pam Pam RestaurantPam Pam Restaurant2 Tudor Square Tenby Dyfed SA70 7AD Tel: 01834 842946 We chose Pam Pam after first trying to get into The Buccaneer and The Bay Tree, both of which were full to heaving. Pam Pam was adequately busy but had space and meant we weren't eating surrounded by a crowd. The ambience and feel of Pam Pam is like one of these new themed olde worlde pubs, where all the staff wear uniforms. It is located in the main square in Tenby and is a prominent double fronted restaurant. The menu is reasonably varied but clearly aimed at the new wave of pub type of diner. So don't expect haute cuisine, but a lot of typical favourites on the menu. We decided not to have starters. From the main courses I chose the homemade chicken curry served with saffron rice and a poppadum. Linda chose sirloin steak and the kids ordered cheeseburgers. We ordered a round of drinks while we waited. Actually Linda wanted the steak and ale pie but unfortunately that was off the menu that evening. All was well and the food arrived. My chicken curry was notable for the fact that it was definitely homemade and a very creditable attempt at that. The poppadum was a bit too greasy for me so I didn't eat it and I was not convinced that the yellow rice had seen a lot of saffron but still a pleasant meal. Linda's steak was also nice, perhaps not as rare as she would have like but still a slight shade of pink in the middle. The children's burgers were devoured without complaint and we also got through another round of drinks. The bill came to around £30 for the four of us including drinks. Verdict: We could not find anything to overly praise or criticise here. We had a very reasonable meal for the price in pleasant surrounding served by pleasant and efficient staff. We would eat there again which is the acid test. Phil. |
