It was very late in afternoon, and hot. We were on the return leg of our motoring holiday.

We weren't sure we'd find anywhere to eat, but the staff at La Bourse didn't seem to mind being roused from their own meal to cater for these weird English tourists who didn't know what time it was.

They could not provide a complete choice, a la carte, but were prepared to do us simple meals - perhaps a salad?

We settled for 2 Entrecotes and Frites, Coke, Beer, 166FF.

Handsome portions, steak not brilliant, but commensurate with the price.

However, again the contrast between the willingness of these establishments compared to English equivalents is an eye-opener.
