The Eastern Spices Restaurant37B middlewich Road This is a fairly new restaurant and has recently replaced a fairly short lived takeaway on the same site. It has been tastefully modernised and provides a clean and comfortable atmosphere to dine in. It is located near the ERF works on the edge of the town centre. There is street car parking to both the front and rear of the restaurant The Eastern Spices is a welcome addition to the local restaurant scene. The food is good quality, fresh and well presented. It is moderately expensive but this restaurant deserves be tried. There is a separate take-away menu which offers a discount to the full restaurant service. The food is freshly prepared, and consequently it can sometimes be a wait for the meal to be served. I have sampled a number of dishes on the extensive menu. In particular my benchmark meals of chicken dhansak, chicken bhuna and chicken dopiaza all meet the required standard without being exceptional. I have not tried any of the rather delicious sounding chef's specialities (Hari Murchi, Murg Naboni, Sagarica Chicken). Overall, this restaurant is worth visiting but has not yet established a reputation that makes it a must. It is somewhat pricy, but given the choice within Sandach (excluding takeaway's where The Ganges is par excellance) it must be the preferred place to eat Indian food in a restaurant. |
