Eastern Nights Balti Restaurant51 Wheelock Street The Eastern Nights is located about half way along the main street in Middlewich. it is a fairly compact restaurant with a light and airy decor. Chef's specials adorn a blackboard, but rarely (if ever) change. Street parking is the order of the day both outside the restaurant or in adjacent side streets. The Eastern Nights is a well established local restaurant and has developed a reputation for high quality and good service. Whilst it currently maintains that position it must not dare let its standards drop. It has lots of competition snapping at its heels. The menu itself is fairly standard fayre. Similar to the Balti Massala in Holmes Chapel. There is a selection of chef's specials which are a more exotic variation on the Balti theme. The rest of the menu has a large Balti and traditional selection. The downside is that anything described as Balti means it is more expensive. The chef's specials are not cheap. However overall the standard of food and quality of the ingredients used is very good. The takeaways are priced more competitively with a 10% discount and are reasonable value for money Service is good and the food always arrives fresh and hot. The breads (always an indicator) are freshly prepared and piping hot. A tandoor is obviously used for the naans and other tandoori dishes on the menu. There is a Sunday buffet. But be warned, if they still do this it is not reliable. I have turned up for the Sunday buffet to find the place closed down and the waiters on window cleaning duty. There is no delivery service Verdict - A good quality restaurant but for anybody prepared to seek alternatives locally there are perhaps better (value for money) options. |
