Crab & LobsterYorkshire Pub 'The Crab & Lobster' wins top British Seafood Award.Crab & Lobster The Crab & Lobster in Asenby, North Yorkshire has been presented with the AA Best Seafood Pub in Britain Award, which is sponsored by the Sea Fish Industry Authority (Seafish). The Crab & Lobster topped more than 2000 pubs in the AA Pubs & Inns Guide 2001. The Crab & Lobster is a 17th century thatched Munchkin cottage that sits in an idyllic spot amid seven acres of garden, lake and streams. Its brasserie menu is supplemented by daily blackboard specials, which major in fresh fish, ranging from bouillabaise, Thai fishcakes and scallops Gruyere to monkfish tortillas. David Hancock, AA Pub Guide Editor says: The Crab & Lobster was chosen for its superb range of imaginative and adventurous seafood dishes, excellently presented and using the freshest produce. The pub itself is a delightful treasure trove of eccentric bric-a-brac and antiques, which makes the Crab and Lobster an even more desirable destination. Howard Thomas, Trade Development Executive for Seafish says Seafood is the ideal meal choice when eating out its extremely tasty and because it is very versatile, there is always something on the menu to suit everyone. Seafish have sponsored these awards for the third year running because we want to reward and highlight those pubs and inns that work hard to serve up the best seafood dishes in Great Britain.
