Le BoucanierLe Boucanier Tel.: 04 93 49 80 51 29th August 2001 On a day trip out from our base at Antibes on our holiday, we went across country, rather than the autoroute, to La Napoule. We had lunch, late again, at a beach / marina restaurant, Le Boucanier. They had finished the main lunch service a while ago, but were prepared to serve us simple dishes. I had Fettucine with Basil, Marg had Spaghetti Bolgognese. This was on the face of it an unremarkable restaurant, but, given our untimely arrival the graciousness of the staff and the quality of the food they did rustle up for us was heartening - there are too many places on our side of the Channel which would have turned us away, or served us up re-heated slops with a grudge. Together with a pastis and a couple of coffees:185FF (£18.01) Average - but , my friend, the location!!!!
