Sanam Sweet House and RestaurantSanam Sweet House and Restaurant145 - 151 Wilmslow RoadRusholme Manchester M14 5AW Tel: 0161-224 8824/1008 We have also done a restaurant review of the Sanam Sweet House and Restaurant. On a number of occasions we have called into the Sanam to get a selection of Indian sweets and savouries. On a previous visit I bought a selection of sweets. For any body who has not tried indian sweets, they are extremely sweet, and most loosly resemble traditional fudge. However, they have a more milky taste and come in different varieties flavoured with pistachio, carrot, coconut and other syrupy things. I also bought some baklawa which is a bit like an Indian Eccles cake. It is a syrupy glazed pastry filled with a sweet pistachio filling. Absolutely delicious. For good measure I also came away with some samosas and sheek kebabs. Samosa were excellent value at 55 pence each for meat filling. Unfortunately they didn't have any vegetable ones ready. The sheek kebabs were £1.50 (if my memory serves me) for two. Once again excellent value, but very spicy, with a strong hint of fresh green chilli. Verdict - We might not eat in the restaurant too often, but we always buy sweets from Sanam when we are in Rusholme. In my opinion it is the top Sweet Centre on the Wilmslow Road. Phil.
