Skye and Lochalsh Food and Drink Festival 18th
– 21st September 2003. This September sees the welcome return
of the Skye and Lochalsh Food & Drink Festival. Last year, over
1,500 people attended a variety of events and even included a couple
from Texas and a lady from Oregon coming on holiday specially to go
to the Festival's Whisky Banquet.
The UK's best fish and chip shop in 2002, Brownsover Fish Bar in Rugby, will be serving up battered oysters to its customers on Valentine's Day. The
romantic owners, Andy and Yasmin Thrasyvoulou will also be adding a splash of champagne to the batter of the nation's favourite dish - fish and chips.14th February

A guidebook called Tip-top Fish and Chip Shops,
containing details of 100 fish and chip shops, is due to be launched
on 28 March 2002. The book, written by Tony Mudd, features fish and
chip shops from all over England and includes a tremendous 65 Sea
Fish Industry Authority (Seafish) Quality Award holding shops. 22nd March 2002.
This prestigious competition is a test of
salmon cookery skill to find the young chef in Scotland who can best
demonstrate how to make the most of the unique flavour and texture
of this versatile fish. It offers the richest prize in Scottish

Several European
countries, such as Ireland, Belgium and Holland, hold large,
outdoor mussel festivals. This event of celebration is the first of its
kind in Scotland, taking this concept into some of the Best Seafood
Restaurants in the UK, and is a precursor for a regular annual

Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson will
today (Monday July 16) launch the 2001 Fish & Chip Shop of the
Year competition organised by the Sea Fish Industry Authority
(Seafish). Self-confessed fish and chip addict Tara was chosen to be
the face of this year’s competition to reflect its new found status
as being amongst the UK’s most fashionable - as well as the most

first UK-wide National Seafood Week later this year. use the week to
promote the benefits of
eating seafood, in all its forms, to consumers across the UK. Special
